Repair Terms & Warranty
- By booking a repair, you confirm that you own the device or have permission from its owner.
- You authorise iCrack to inspect, open, diagnose, repair and test your device.
- Repair prices are based on the reported fault and our initial inspection. If additional faults, parts or costs are discovered, we will contact you for approval before carrying out further chargeable work.
- Repair completion times are estimates and may be affected by parts availability, additional faults, supplier delays or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
- Depending on the repair option agreed with you, we may use genuine, refurbished or compatible replacement parts.
- Compatible or refurbished parts may differ from the original part in appearance, colour, brightness, performance or manufacturer-related notifications.
- Customer-supplied parts are installed at the customer’s risk and are not covered by our parts warranty.
- Customers must back up all important data before submitting a device. Repairs may require the device to be updated, reset, restored or erased, and we cannot guarantee that data will be preserved.
- Please remove your SIM card, memory card and unnecessary accessories before submitting your device.
- We may request your device passcode to complete testing before and after the repair. Without the passcode, we may be unable to carry out a full functional test.
- We are not responsible for pre-existing faults, damage caused by previous repairs or unrelated faults discovered after the device is opened.
- Previously opened or repaired devices may contain hidden damage, missing components, damaged connectors, torn cables, corrosion or unsuitable replacement parts.
- Liquid-damaged devices may contain hidden corrosion and may develop further faults after treatment. Liquid-damage repairs are not covered by our voluntary warranty.
- Opening a device may affect its original waterproof or water-resistant seals. Unless confirmed in writing, we cannot guarantee water resistance after a repair.
- Using an independent repair service may affect your device manufacturer’s warranty. Customers wishing to preserve that warranty should contact the manufacturer or an authorised repair provider before booking.
Warranty Periods
Unless a different period is stated on your receipt:
- Motherboard repairs: 28-day limited warranty
- Screen replacements: 6-month limited warranty
- Battery replacements: 6-month limited warranty
- Software repairs: Up to 12 months of support for the original software repair and eligible iOS or Android updates
- Liquid-damage repairs: No voluntary warranty
- Customer-supplied parts: No parts warranty
The warranty begins on the date the repair is completed.
Software-update support depends on the device remaining compatible and the update being released by Apple, Google or the relevant manufacturer. We cannot guarantee that every future software version will be available for or supported by your device.
Warranty Coverage
The warranty applies only to the original repair and the specific part repaired or replaced. It does not provide warranty coverage for the entire device or for components that we did not repair.
All warranty claims are subject to inspection and testing. If a claim is accepted under the applicable warranty, we will repair or replace the affected part free of charge.
Warranty Exclusions
The warranty does not cover:
- Accidental, impact, pressure or physical damage
- Cracked, chipped, bent or crushed devices
- Liquid, water, moisture, steam or condensation damage
- Misuse, neglect or improper storage
- Normal wear and tear
- Normal battery degradation
- Software, application, account, network or data problems unrelated to our repair
- New or unrelated faults
- Faults affecting parts that we did not repair or replace
- Damage caused by unsuitable chargers, cables or accessories
- Devices opened, repaired or modified by the customer or another repair provider after our repair
- Customer-supplied parts
- Cosmetic damage that does not affect the operation of the repaired part
- Screen damage caused by impact, pressure, bending, twisting or liquid exposure
Examples of screen damage may include:
- Blue, pink, green, white or black lines
- Black dots or ink-like marks
- Display bleeding or spreading discolouration
- Flickering caused by impact or pressure
- Damaged or non-responsive display areas
- Dead pixels caused by physical or liquid damage
- Internal display damage, even where the outer glass is not cracked
These display symptoms are not automatically excluded from warranty. They will be treated as accidental or physical damage only where our inspection finds evidence that impact, pressure, bending, liquid exposure or another excluded event caused the problem.
Where there is no evidence of accidental or liquid damage and the display problem is confirmed to be a defect in the replacement screen, it may be covered by the applicable warranty.
Warranty Claims
All warranty claims are subject to inspection and testing.
To make a claim, please return the device to iCrack and provide:
- Your receipt, repair number or other reasonable proof of repair
- The device make and model
- A description of the problem
- Details of any accident, impact, pressure or liquid exposure after the repair
You must give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect and test the device before we decide whether the claim is covered.
If the claim is covered, we will repair or replace the affected part free of charge.
If the issue is unrelated to our repair or falls outside the warranty, we will explain our findings and provide a quotation before carrying out further chargeable work.
Payment and Collection
Payment is due when the repair is completed unless another arrangement has been agreed.
Specially ordered parts or specialist repairs may require a deposit or advance payment.
The device will normally be returned only after all properly due charges have been paid.
Please inspect and test your device when collecting it and report any concerns as soon as reasonably possible.
Refunds
Refunds are not normally available where an authorised repair has been completed correctly and the customer has simply changed their mind.
Where a repair or replacement part does not meet the required legal standard, we will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable consumer law.
